Abben Art to Feature in Garden DesignFest 2026 – A Weekend of Exceptional Landscape Design
Abben Art is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming Garden Design Fest 2026, Australia’s premier open garden weekend celebrating contemporary landscape design.
Taking place across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula in Australia, this highly anticipated event will be held on the weekend of 21–22 November 2026, offering visitors rare access to some of the region’s most beautifully designed private gardens.
The festival brings together gardens created by some of Melbourne’s leading designers, each generously opened to the public for the weekend by their owners. The spaces are staffed by dedicated volunteers alongside the designers themselves, providing visitors with exclusive insight into the creative vision and practical execution behind each landscape.
Beyond its appeal as a unique cultural and design experience, the weekend also serves a greater purpose. The event is a major fundraising initiative for Rotary, with all proceeds supporting a principal charity. The collaborative effort of designers, homeowners, and volunteers ensures that every aspect of the weekend contributes to this cause.
Whether you are seeking inspiration for your own garden, considering a new landscape design, or simply wishing to wander through thoughtfully crafted outdoor spaces, the Garden Design Fest offers an unmissable opportunity to experience some truly remarkable landscapes.
Save the date for 21–22 November 2026 and enjoy a weekend where design, community, and philanthropy come together in full bloom.
Our Featured Coastal Terraced Garden in McCrae

Abben Art’s featured garden for the Garden Design Fest 2026 is a refined example of structured landscape design set against a dramatic coastal backdrop.
The design is organised through strong geometric terraces, linking stone paving, dry stone walling, lawns, sympathetic planting and gravel paths, that guide movement through the space while framing expansive ocean views. Natural stone and timber elements are balanced with rusted steel detailing, creating a dialogue between warmth, texture, and contemporary form.
Planting is restrained and architectural, using spaced trees and low understorey layers to preserve openness and maintain long sightlines to the surrounding bushland and sea. The result is a calm, cohesive landscape where built form and natural environment sit in harmony.
Wildlife movement through the garden further enhances its sense of integration with place, reinforcing the design’s connection to its broader coastal setting.
The project reflects the design philosophy of Abben Art—clarity, restraint, and a deep respect for landscape context.

We at Abben Art look forward to seeing you there. Check Rotary DesignFest website for ticket sales and updates.
